Sony has released the first trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, offering fans their first look at Tom Holland’s return as the web-slinger.
It marks the first solo Spider-Man film in five years, following the massive success of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Peter Parker Faces a New Reality
The trailer picks up after the events of No Way Home. Peter Parker is rebuilding his life in a world that no longer remembers him.
He operates in secret, protecting New York City while staying anonymous.
At the same time, Parker faces strange physical changes tied to what the film calls a critical point in the “spider life cycle.” These new challenges hint at a deeper transformation ahead.
Familiar Allies and New Tensions
Parker does not face this chapter alone.
The trailer shows him turning to Bruce Banner, played by Mark Ruffalo, for guidance. Jon Bernthal also appears as the Punisher, signaling a darker, more grounded tone.
Zendaya returns as MJ, though her role is expected to be smaller than in previous films.
Setting the Stage for the MCU’s Future
Brand New Day also connects directly to the next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The film acts as a lead-in to Avengers: Doomsday, which is set for release in December. It is also Holland’s final contracted standalone Spider-Man film.
Destin Daniel Cretton directs the film. He previously helmed Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
