Rick Remender’s ‘The End League’ Returns in a Complete Collection

The End League

Superstar writer Rick Remender reunites with legendary artists Eric Canete, Mat Broome, and Andy Macdonald for The End League Complete Collection. The series blends the raw survival of The Road Warrior with the moral weight of Watchmen. Image Comics brings the full saga back to shelves in March 2026.

Originally published in 2008, the entire series now appears in a single trade paperback. The collection features a new cover by Eric Canete and updated presentation from series colorist Matt Wilson.

A World Where Villains Won

In the New York Times bestselling series The End League, the world does not end in fire. It falls to conquest. Decades earlier, the villains win. They reshape civilization into a brutal wasteland ruled by tyrants, cults, and monsters hiding behind familiar masks.

A handful of remaining heroes take on one final mission. They must cross a villain-dominated Earth to find the last artifact that could change everything. Their goal is the Hammer of Thor.

Remender on the Story’s Origins

“The End League was my first superhero story and my first hit series,” said Remender. “It was also the DNA for much of my later work at Marvel. It’s the end of the modern myth: a true finale.”

He continues, “This is the kind of story you can’t tell in a corporate universe. The stakes are real and there’s no reset. It’s a world where the rotten outnumber the noble, leaving a small band of heroes with one last shot to prove that good intentions still matter.”

Power, Consequences, and Myth

At its core, The End League examines what super-humans would mean for an ordinary world. It explores the catastrophic cost of mistakes made by all-powerful beings. It also confronts what average people might become when handed impossible power.

The collection stands as essential reading for fans of Remender’s Uncanny X-Force.

The End League Complete Collection trade paperback (ISBN: 9781534334755) arrives at local comic shops on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. It reaches bookstores and digital platforms on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.
