Oni Press and Archie Comic Publications, Inc. announce a sweeping new publishing partnership. The collaboration marks a major new chapter for Archie Andrews, Betty Cooper, Veronica Lodge, Jughead, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Josie and the Pussycats, and the rest of Riverdale. The initiative spans monthly comic series, original graphic novels, and prestige collections that honor nearly nine decades of Archie Comics history while reimagining it for a new era.
A Bold New Vision Begins in 2026
In 2026, “America’s Favorite Teenager” faces a defining crossroads. Three new monthly series anchor the launch, led by W. Maxwell Prince, Corinna Bechko, and Patrick Horvath. Artists include Fábio Moon, Nick Cagnetti, Kano, and Tyler Crook. Together, the teams explore youth, identity, and change through bold storytelling and striking visuals.
Industry Leaders Weigh In
“Archie’s characters have few rivals in global pop culture,” said David Steward II, Chairman of the Oni-Lion Forge Publishing Group. He called the partnership one of the most significant moments in Oni Press’ history.
Jesse Goldwater, Senior Vice President of Creative at Archie Publications, emphasized respect for legacy paired with creative ambition. Oni Press President and Publisher Hunter Gorinson highlighted the opportunity to push the boundaries of what an Archie comic can be.
Editorial Leadership and Rollout
Oni Press Editor-in-Chief Sierra Hahn oversees the line, joined by Bess Pallares and Megan Brown, with guidance from Archie editors Jamie Rotante and Vincent Lovallo. Marketing begins in Fall 2026, with appearances at ComicsPRO and San Diego Comic-Con 2026.
“Life in the 21st century is complex,” Hahn said. She teased radical reinvention across titles like ARCHIE, SABRINA, and a new series led by Horvath and Crook.
Collections, New Readers, and the Future
Following ARCHIE #1 in September 2026, Oni will release collections spanning all eras in digests, deluxe hardcovers, omnibi, and box sets. In 2027, the line expands with middle grade and young adult graphic novels set in a separate continuity.
With more than three billion comics sold since 1939, Archie Comics continues to evolve. This partnership marks the first time its characters publish with another company, adding to Oni Press’ growing slate that includes EC Comics, Adventure Time, and Matt Kindt’s Flux House imprint.
