Skybound and Image Comics will launch the all-new comic series Terminal this summer. The debut arrives July 22, 2026.
The series unites an all-star creative team. Writers Robert Kirkman (Invincible, The Walking Dead) and Joe Casey(Uncanny X-Men, WildC.A.T.s) lead the charge. They are joined by artists Andy Kubert, David Finch, and Arthur Adams, with colors by Dave McCaig and lettering by Rus Wooton.
Terminal also marks Kirkman’s first return to superheroes since Invincible.
Kirkman and Casey on the Scale
“Listen, I’ve done my fair share of press release quotes but never for anything this cool,” said Kirkman. “This will be the coolest comic on the market by the best creative team ever assembled. I dare you to find a book with a more stunning array of artistic talent. Go on. I’ll wait. You can’t. I’m co-creating another vast superhero universe with Joe Casey, Andy Kubert, David Finch, and Arthur Adams. It’s going to be great.”
Casey called the launch his biggest yet. “I’ve been involved in some big launches before, but this is by far the biggest,” he said. “This series has been many years in the making. Readers have no idea what they’re in for. The talent level is off the charts, and the ambition and scale are truly epic. Terminal is what great superhero comics are all about.”
Inside the World of Terminal

Artists on Building a New Universe
“I’ve had a very fortunate career with the big two, so for my first project outside that box since the late ’80s, I couldn’t be more excited,” said Kubert. “Working with Kirkman, Casey, Finch, and Adams, along with Dave McCaig, is humbling and massive. Building characters and environments with Robert and Joe was some of the most fun I’ve had in comics. Honestly, I thought I’d drawn everything until Terminal.”
Finch called the project a return to form. “Terminal is everything that made me want to draw comics,” he said. “Classic, high-action superhero storytelling by the very best writers. Designs and art by Andy Kubert and Arthur Adams. On one book. As a fan, it’s adrenaline. As an artist, it feels like coming home.”
Adams highlighted the creative freedom. “This is my first interior work in ages,” he said. “It’s been amazing to help create a whole new universe. Working with Robert Kirkman and Joe Casey has been incredible. The series goes in directions no one expects. Terminal is packed with heroes and monsters. My kind of comic.”

Terminal #1 will include a special blind bag program. Fans can score nearly all orderable covers at varying rarity levels. Three exclusive surprise items are also included. Each blind bag offers a sneak peek into the world of Terminal, delivered in a style unique to Kirkman.
Designed for fans of Invincible and classic X-Men eras, Terminal promises a violent and unpredictable superhero experience. The first issue is priced at $4.99.
Terminal #1 will be available Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at comic shops and on digital platforms.
