Following its reveal at New York Comic Con, Dynamite Entertainment and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products have shared new details about the highly anticipated return of Ben 10 to comic books.
The franchise’s original creators at Man of Action Entertainment are back. Joe Casey, Joe Kelly, Duncan Rouleau, and Steven T. Seagle return to the characters and mythology they created. The group began in comics before expanding into animation, television, and film. Their work includes Superman, Spider-Man, and the creation of Big Hero 6.
A New Era Begins in May
The new Ben 10 comic series launches this May with a story arc written by Joe Casey and illustrated by Robert Carey.
Casey brings nearly three decades of experience to the project. His credits include WildC.A.T.s, Superman, X-Men, Avengers, Gødland, Youngblood, as well as recent Dynamite and Warner Bros. Discovery titles Jonny Quest and Space Ghost. Carey’s artwork has appeared in James Bond and Jennifer Blood.
Man of Action Shapes the Series
The Man of Action team will guide the series as it moves forward. Each creator will take turns scripting future arcs. Stories from Kelly, Rouleau, and Seagle will be announced later, offering a range of fresh takes rooted in the franchise’s history.
Casey’s opening arc resets the foundation with a revised origin story. The approach is direct and action-driven. It reintroduces Ben Tennyson for a modern audience while staying true to the spirit of the original.
The series will explore a wider range of tones. Drama, comedy, tragedy, and surreal elements will all play a role. The goal is a definitive Ben 10 experience for longtime fans and first-time readers alike.
Joe Casey on the Vision
“As original creators of the entire Ben 10 phenomenon, this comic book is a huge deal for us,” said Casey. “For Ben 10fans, both new and old, we’re committed to giving you everything you could possibly want in this series. We’ve got every previous incarnation to draw from and we’re not holding anything back. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. This is the most ‘Absolute’ Ben 10 you can get.”
Revisiting the Origin
The story begins with Ben Tennyson on a camping trip with his family. A meteor crashes nearby. When Ben investigates, he discovers the Omnitrix among the wreckage. In that moment, a new hero is born.
This retelling expands the scale of those iconic events. The narrative explores real-world consequences, including military involvement and a genuine alien threat.
From there, the series builds like a classic superhero comic. Short, accessible story arcs deepen the mythology over time. The creative team will draw from every era of Ben 10, selecting fan-favorite elements and villains while shaping a stronger, unified continuity.
Covers, Variants, and Collector Options
Ben 10 #1 debuts May 6. The launch includes a wide range of variant covers that reflect the collaborative nature of the series.
Robert Carey provides a cover alongside Man of Action partner Duncan Rouleau, with additional covers by Dustin Nguyen, Sebastian Piriz, and Eric Canete.
Collectors can also purchase a mystery blind bag edition. Each bag includes one randomly selected limited cover exclusive to this format. A Blank Authentix version will be available as well, inviting fans to design their own Ben 10aliens or commission sketches at conventions.
