Eisner Award-winning writer Derek Kirk Kim (The Last Mermaid, Same Difference) is teaming with rising artist Jacob Perez (Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) for a new crime story with a supernatural twist. Their standalone graphic novel, Royals, arrives this fall from Image Comics.
The upcoming trade paperback combines crime, family conflict and telepathy in a story set in Seoul, South Korea. It follows twin brothers whose unusual connection gives them an edge until their scheme puts them in the path of a dangerous criminal organization.
A Perfect Poker Hustle Goes Wrong
Twin brothers Paul and Castor have developed what seems like the perfect poker hustle. Their uncanny telepathic connection allows them to work together in ways their opponents cannot anticipate.
The operation falls apart when the brothers are caught red-handed by the most ruthless criminal syndicate in Seoul. Suddenly, their ability becomes more than a way to make money.
The Brothers Face a Dangerous Heist
To repay the syndicate, Paul and Castor must pull off a daring heist. For the first time, they also have to use their telepathic gift for something bigger than themselves.
Their greatest obstacle may not be the criminals waiting for them. The brothers must survive the mission without destroying their relationship or killing each other first.
‘Royals’ Collects the Complete Series
The Royals trade paperback will collect the complete six-issue series, including Royals #1-6. Readers will be able to find the full story in one volume.
The collection will arrive at local comic book shops and digital platforms on Wednesday, November 11. It will follow in bookstores on Tuesday, December 8.
