‘Mean Girls’ Maintains Top Spot At Box Office

Mean Girls

The Mean Girls musical by Paramount maintained the top spot of the January 19–21 weekend, earning an estimated $11.7 million from 3,826 theaters, bringing the domestic total to $50 million. With a 59% decline, the Tina Fey musical was not as successful as the producers had hoped.

I.S.S., a thriller set in two competing space stations and starring actors from Bleecker Street, was the sole new wide release. The picture features Ariana DeBose and Chris Messina and was directed by Gabriela Cowperthwaite.
