AMC Networks confirms Betsy Brandt is joining the cast of Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches. Brandt, known for Breaking Bad and Life in Pieces, will play a new character named Katherine. Filming for season three begins this week in Vancouver, Canada.
A Darker Season Ahead
The new season dives deeper into the mythology of witchcraft. It introduces new magical families and explores the history of Salem, Massachusetts — home to the infamous witch trials.
The series stars Alexandra Daddario, Harry Hamlin, Tongayi Chirisa, and Alyssa Jirrels. Executive producer Mark Johnson continues to oversee the Anne Rice Immortal Universe for AMC. Esta Spalding and Thomas Schnauz return as co-showrunners, with Michelle Ashford and Tom Williams joining the producing team.
Brandt’s Career Highlights
Brandt rose to fame as Marie on the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning Breaking Bad. She reprised her role in the finale of Better Call Saul. On CBS, she starred in Life in Pieces alongside Dianne Wiest and James Brolin. She also appeared in The Michael J. Fox Show and AMC’s Soulmates, earning a Critics Choice nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
Her film credits include the Blumhouse thriller Run Sweetheart Run, Joanna Gleason’s The Grotto, and the remake of The Valet with Eugenio Derbez, Samara Weaving, and Max Greenfield. She recently produced and starred in The Bad Orphan for Lifetime and is developing several new projects.
On stage, Brandt has performed at the Pasadena Playhouse and Geffen Playhouse. She also originated the role of Mary in Julia Cho’s The Language Archive at South Coast Rep. Brandt is represented by TalentWorks, Patty Woo Management, Viewpoint, and Del Shaw Moonves Tanaka.
