Image Comics is launching In Your Skin, a new four-issue miniseries from writer Aditya Bidikar and rising artist SOM (Crocodile Black). The series fuses body horror and erotic fiction with the glamour and pressure of Bollywood culture. It debuts in April.
The project marks Bidikar’s first major comics series and arrives with support from the Tiny Onion creative team.
Obsession Turns Dangerous
At the center of In Your Skin is Priyanka, a devoted Bollywood fan who has worshipped film star Ayesha Sen since childhood. She watches every movie, memorizes every dance, and shapes her identity around her idol.
Then everything falls apart.
A rare opportunity to meet Ayesha collapses. Soon after, the actress announces her retirement. The news shatters Priyanka’s carefully built fantasy.
Refusing to accept the loss, Priyanka makes a radical choice.
If Ayesha will not live the life she was meant to live, Priyanka will claim it herself.
That decision pulls her into a disturbing physical and psychological transformation fueled by ambition, desire, and obsession.
Aditya Bidikar on Merging Horror and Glamour
Aditya Bidikar says the series reflects his deepest creative interests.
“In Your Skin combines my love for body horror and my fascination with the glamorous world of Bollywood,” Bidikar said. “Backed by the incredible Tiny Onion team, Som and I are thrilled to present a story that’s never been seen before in comics.”
He positions the project as both a tribute to cinema and a critique of celebrity culture.
Bidikar uses horror as a lens to examine fame, fantasy, and personal identity.
SOM Brings the Story to Life
Artist SOM approaches the material with emotional intensity and visual boldness.
“In Your Skin feels like a mirror that refuses to flatter,” SOM said. “Body horror is not just an adornment but a tool for the biography of mutating ambitions in the seductive world of Bollywood, pairing the mundane with the grotesque.”
SOM credits Tiny Onion for supporting the team’s creative risks.
“Hope this book scares and charms you in equal measure,” the artist added.
High-Profile Variant Covers
Image Comics is backing the series with a lineup of high-profile variant covers.
Contributing artists include Maria Llovet (Crave, Artificial), Tula Lotay (Supreme: Blue Rose), Anand RK (Blue in Green), and others.
Each cover reflects the story’s collision of beauty, fame, and psychological horror.
A Dark Look at Fame and Identity
In Your Skin uses body horror to examine how celebrity reshapes identity.
The series explores how obsession distorts self-image. It questions who controls public narratives. It exposes the cost of chasing perfection.
Image positions the book for fans of The Substance and the films of David Cronenberg.
The creative team aims to deliver a story that unsettles readers while keeping them emotionally invested.
