GIJoe Transformers

Skybound, Image Comics, and Hasbro are gearing up for seismic changes in the Energon Universe. Two upcoming issues of G.I. JOE promise major reveals and universe-defining action. Writer Joshua Williamson (Duke, Superman) leads the charge with artist Andrea Milana (Creepshow, Cobra Commander). Colorist Lee Loughridge and letterer Rus Wooton round out the creative team. G.I. JOE #19 arrives in February, with G.I. JOE #20 following in March.

Duke Meets Optimus Prime

The Energon Universe reaches a turning point as Duke and Optimus Prime meet for the first time. The encounter pulls together a mix of fan-favorite characters, including Clutch, Autobot Hound, and America’s most wanted man, Matt Trakker. Skybound isn’t revealing details yet, but the creative team teases a moment that reshapes the universe.

Packed Cover Lineups for Both Issues

G.I. JOE #19 features a main cover by Tom Reilly along with a stacked lineup of variants. Artists include Joshua Cassara and Romulo Fajardo Jr., Ben Oliver, Tonči Zonjić, Trevor Hairsine and Romulo Fajardo Jr., and Andy Lanning. The issue also offers a spoiler foil variant by Pye Parr and a premium foil mask variant by John Amor and Andres Juarez.

G.I. JOE #20 includes a main cover by Reilly, open-to-order variants by Cassara and Oliver, a 1:25 incentive variant by Zonjić, and a 1:50 incentive variant by Jorge Corona.

A Cornerstone of the Energon Universe

G.I. JOE remains a central pillar of the Energon Universe, the ambitious shared world created through the partnership between Hasbro and Skybound. The line also includes Void Rivals by Robert Kirkman, Conor Hughes, and Patricio Delpeche, and the Eisner Award–winning Transformers by Kirkman, Dan Mora, and Mike Spicer.

Every title contributes to a long-term narrative that unifies the Transformers and G.I. JOE franchises. Skybound promises major reveals, new mysteries, and pivotal character moments as the universe expands.

G.I. JOE #19 hits comic shops and digital platforms on Wednesday, February 18, 2026. G.I. JOE #20 arrives one month later on Wednesday, March 18, 2026.
