Image Comics is set to debut D’orc, a new ongoing fantasy series arriving in February 2026. The book unites fan-favorite creator Brett Bean (I Hate Fairyland, Dungeon Crawler Carl The Crocodile), colorist Jean-François Beaulieu (I Hate Fairyland), and letterer Nate Piekos (Minor Threats). Together, they craft a wild, irreverent adventure set in a world where every corner sparks conflict.
A Hero at the Center of a War
The story follows a lonely orphan armed with a wisecracking enchanted shield and an overwhelming need for friendship. He dives straight into Sunderaine’s endless war. Light fights Dark. Elves clash with Orcs. Wizards battle Common Sense. Dragons take on everyone. Stuck directly in the crossfire is D’orc.
Half dwarf, half orc, and fully tied to a doomsday prophecy, D’orc is destined to end the world. Soon every human, elf, goblin, dwarf, Snargletooth, Necroid, Ice Giant, Trauma Llama, and several other unpronounceable creatures will know his name. His enemies will too.
A Creator Driven by Heart and Humor
“I always gravitate to stories that have purpose, heart, and humor,” Bean said. “I love characters that are flawed, believable, and feel real despite being in a very unreal world. There’s a lot of D’orc in me.”
A Must-Read Fantasy Adventure
Readers who love Conan the Barbarian, The Lord of the Rings, or the sharp humor of I Hate Fairyland will find plenty to enjoy. D’orc promises a fast, funny, and heartfelt journey through a world packed with danger and absurdity.
D’orc #1 hits comic shops and digital platforms on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.
