Dynamite will release a new paperback collection this summer featuring the full Gail Simone and Walter Geovani run on Red Sonja.
The volume reprints Red Sonja #0-18 and includes a selection of bonus material. Across more than 500 pages, readers can revisit the celebrated saga that helped introduce a new generation of fans to the She-Devil With a Sword.
A Complete Collection With Major Extras
The edition includes every story written by Gail Simone and illustrated primarily by Geovani. It also features a cover gallery with work from Jenny Frison, Nicola Scott, Fiona Staples, Amanda Conner, Stephanie Buscema, and more.
The collection brings together one of the most discussed Red Sonja runs of the past decade in a single paperback volume.
Gail Simone’s Acclaimed Take on Red Sonja
Simone stands among the most acclaimed and influential writers in modern comics. Her 25-year career includes major runs on Batgirl, Birds of Prey, Wonder Woman, Deadpool, Secret Six, and more.
She currently writes Uncanny X-Men, one of the industry’s all-time chart-topping titles.
Her Red Sonja stories gave the Hyrkanian Heroine a revamped origin, a memorable supporting cast, and a strong lineup of foes. The run earned broad praise from readers and critics.
A Companion to Swords of Sorrow
After this series, Simone continued with Red Sonja in Dynamite’s crossover event Swords of Sorrow.
That event featured major women from comics and pulp fiction, including Vampirella, Dejah Thoris, Kato, Jungle Girl, and more. It also included tie-ins written by other top women in comics.
The full crossover is also available in a 500-page collection. It serves as a fitting companion to the new Red Sonja edition.
