Skybound and Image Comics have revealed new details for G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero/Tomb Raider #2. The crossover, produced in collaboration with Hasbro and video game developer Crystal Dynamics, arrives in comic shops and on digital platforms November 4, 2026.
Writer Kyle Higgins (Radiant Black) leads the creative team alongside artist Elena Casagrande (Black Widow), colorist Alex Guimarães (Invaders), and letterer Pat Brosseau (G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero).
Lara Croft Takes the Fight to Cobra Island
YO…LARA CROFT! The crossover continues as the legendary adventurer joins Shipwreck and an elite G.I. Joe battalion for an assault on Cobra Island.
The team launches its attack by land, sea, and air. Their mission puts them in a race against time to solve a deadly puzzle before Destro and his Iron Grenadiers unlock its secret.
With Cobra Island as the battleground, Lara Croft and the Joes must overcome dangerous obstacles to reach their objective. The stakes continue to rise as both sides compete to uncover the mystery.
New Covers and Exclusive Variants Revealed
G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero/Tomb Raider #2 features a main cover by Elena Casagrande and Alex Guimarães. Skybound has also revealed several variant covers for collectors.
Sweeney Boo provides an open-to-order variant that will also be available as a foil edition. Additional incentive covers include a 1:25 variant by Chris Mooneyham and a 1:50 variant by Ito.
Fans who missed the crossover’s opening chapter will have another opportunity to pick it up. G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero/Tomb Raider #1 returns with a second printing on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, featuring a new cover by artist Annie Wu.
G.I. Joe Continues Its Expansion at Skybound
The crossover builds on the collaboration between Skybound and Hasbro. That partnership includes G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero and the shared Energon Universe comics line.
Writer Larry Hama continues to lead G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero, working with artists Chris Mooneyham, Paul Pelletier, Andrew Krahnke, and Tony Kordos, along with colorist Francesco Segala. The long-running series remains a cornerstone of Skybound’s G.I. Joe publishing efforts.
The Energon Universe also brings several major franchises together through interconnected stories. Its ongoing titles include:
