Dynamite Entertainment and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products are bringing more familiar faces to the Ben 10 comic book series. The franchise continues to expand its roster of alien transformations and villains, with two major character debuts planned for Ben 10 #8 in January.
Writer Joe Casey and artist Robert Carey will introduce Wildvine in his first full appearance within the series’ continuity. The issue will also feature the debut of a classic villain whose identity remains a secret.
Wildvine Takes Center Stage
Fans of the original Ben 10 franchise will recognize Wildvine, the one-eyed, plant-based alien transformation. The fan-favorite character finally steps into the action after making a brief cameo in an earlier dream sequence.
While that earlier appearance offered readers a glimpse of Wildvine, issue #8 marks his official introduction to the story. His arrival continues the series’ tradition of bringing established characters into its developing continuity.
Nearly every issue of the new Ben 10 comic has introduced a recognizable alien transformation, a familiar villain, or both. Wildvine’s debut keeps that momentum going as the series enters the new year.
A Classic Villain Joins the Story
Wildvine will not be the only familiar character arriving in Ben 10 #8. Dynamite has confirmed that an iconic villain will also make their first appearance in the series.
The publisher is keeping the villain’s identity under wraps for now. However, the character’s introduction will provide important clues about the larger story unfolding throughout the comic.
Casey promises that the latest additions are part of a much bigger adventure.
“In each issue of Ben 10 so far, we’ve made sure to provide readers with the thrill of the new,” said writer Joe Casey. “In issue #8, it’s finally time for Wildvine to take center stage for his in-story debut. Not to mention, the first appearance of an iconic villain will provide essential clues to the larger Ben 10 saga that we’re still just beginning to unleash. And while there’s no way readers will be able to predict what’s coming next — we guarantee it’s gonna be a crazy ride!”
Creative Team Brings New Characters to Life
Joe Casey and Robert Carey continue their work on the series alongside colorist Ren Spiller and letterer Taylor Esposito. The creative team is building a new chapter of Ben 10 while drawing on the characters and mythology that established the franchise.
The eighth issue also features a lineup of cover artists. Dustin Nguyen, Sebastian Piriz, Eric Canete, and Man of Action member Duncan Rouleau contribute artwork for the upcoming release.
Ben 10 #8 Arrives in January
With Wildvine’s full debut and the arrival of a mysterious villain, Ben 10 #8 promises another chapter in the expanding comic book saga. The issue continues Dynamite’s approach of combining familiar characters with new story developments.
Ben 10 #8 arrives in January, giving readers their first full look at Wildvine in action and revealing the next threat facing the young hero.
