Dynamite Entertainment and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products have revealed new details about the long-awaited Ben 10 comic book series. For the first time, the franchise’s four original creators will personally craft new ongoing adventures. The series launches in February.
From Comics to Cartoons and Back Again
The Man of Action Entertainment (MOA) team—Joe Casey, Joe Kelly, Duncan Rouleau, and Steven T. Seagle—first built their careers in comics before co-founding one of the most celebrated creative collectives in pop culture. They have shaped major franchises like Superman and Spider-Man, as well as their own hit Big Hero 6.
Now, they return to their roots to bring Ben 10 back to the medium where their storytelling began. Joe Casey leads the new series, following his acclaimed work on Dynamite’s Jonny Quest and Space Ghost titles. Artist Robert Carey, known for Outsiders, James Bond, and Jennifer Blood, will join Casey on the first stories. The Man of Action team will guide the creative direction, with each member contributing scripts at different stages.
A Bold New Vision for Ben 10
This new era takes a direct, action-packed approach. The creators aim to modernize the concept for today’s readers while honoring the spirit of the beloved animated series. The comic will explore a broader emotional range, from intense drama to humor and surreal adventure.
“Ben 10 is obviously very close to our hearts,” said writer Joe Casey. “We’re excited to present our vision of Ben and his mythology in the way we’ve always imagined. This is a straight-up superhero comic that will compete with the best. It’s ‘Ultimate’ or ‘Absolute’ Ben 10—the strongest version of the character yet.”
A Fresh Start for New and Longtime Fans
The debut issue begins with an updated origin story. Readers will rediscover how young Ben Tennyson encounters the Omnitrix and its world-changing powers. The story delves into how that discovery affects the world around him.
From there, the Man of Action team will reimagine the franchise’s most iconic moments, refining and expanding its universe. The series promises continuity, depth, and surprises that reward loyal fans while introducing new readers to Ben, Gwen, Grandpa Max, and enemies like Vilgax. Expect fresh takes on the Omnitrix’s many aliens and a thrilling exploration of one of animation’s most enduring worlds.
