‘Giant-Size Youngblood’ Brings New Characters to Image Comics

Youngblood

Rob Liefeld’s Giant-Size Youngblood is set to hit stores next month.

The extra-length one-shot will run 72 pages. Image Comics will publish the issue.

The new release expands the Youngblood storyline with several first appearances. It also sets up key players for the franchise’s next chapter.

New Characters Join the Franchise

Giant-Size Youngblood will introduce multiple new characters tied to the future of the series.

“Giant-Size Youngblood #1 is chock full of signature moments that shape the future of the franchise! We re-introduce fan favorites The New Men, who were recently glimpsed in Youngblood #100. They will continue to play a key role in our titles from Youngblood to Badrock and beyond,” said Liefeld. “But, most importantly, five all-new, never-before-seen characters emerge to aid Youngblood. These characters create the core of the new team line-up when Youngblood #101 returns this fall. Giant-Size Youngblood #1 is their official first appearance.

“Part of the pure joy I have experienced in my career is putting fresh, new talents under the spotlight and the “Young Bloods,” as I call them, came out in full force with these incredible covers!”

New Artists Take the Spotlight

The issue will also feature several variant covers from emerging artists.

Liefeld selected Beniamino Bradi, Michael Pedro and Reese Hannigan through an open call for submissions. He handpicked the artists as standout new talent and dubbed them industry “young bloods.”

Their covers add another first-look element to the release.

The Story Heads to a Mysterious Island

In Giant-Size Youngblood, the Youngblood team investigates a mysterious island.

The team also discovers the island’s secret inhabitants. The story moves the franchise forward while reconnecting with characters and concepts from its past.

‘Summer of Youngblood’ Continues

The release is part of Liefeld’s “Summer of Youngblood” celebration.

The season-long event marks the return and expansion of the franchise that launched the Image Revolution.

The celebration began with Youngblood #100. That issue sold out instantly and received an immediate reprint. Giant-Size Youngblood #1 will be available at comic book shops and digital platforms on Wednesday, July 22.
