William Harms launches a new dystopian thriller next month with White Sky, published by Image Comics. Harms, a two time BAFTA nominee for Mafia III and an International Horror Guild Award finalist for Impaler, teams with artist JP Mavinga and colorist Lee Loughridge on the series.
IGN exclusively revealed the project alongside a first look preview.
When the Sky Turned White, Everything Changed
Five years ago, the sky went white. Civilization collapsed soon after.
Violet and her father, David, emerge from hiding with no safe place left behind them. They cross the remains of America toward the broken ruins of San Francisco, chasing a rumor of sanctuary. The dead linger everywhere. Survival comes at a cost, and safety is never certain.
A Story Driven by Family and Survival
“When we face impossible challenges and incomprehensible monsters, sometimes the only courage we have comes from the people who won’t abandon us,” said Mavinga. “Every page is the story of one small family fighting to survive.”
Harms frames the series as both epic and intimate. “I’ve always loved ghost stories,” he said. “So I asked what if the entire world was haunted? That question became White Sky. At its core, it’s about a man and his daughter trying to stay alive in that world.”
Variant Cover and Visual Talent
The debut issue features a variant cover by award winning animation artist Eliza Ivanova. Her credits include Cars 2, Brave, Inside Out, and Coco.
A New Apocalypse for Horror Fans
White Sky blends emotional survival storytelling with large scale horror. The series targets readers drawn to The Last of Us, The Walking Dead, and 28 Days Later.
White Sky #1 hits comic shops on Wednesday, February 18. Digital editions will also be available on Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, and Google Play.
