Vampirella Archive

Dynamite Entertainment is continuing its paperback editions of the complete Vampirella Archives with a new volume focused on the character’s original era.

The seventh volume reprints issues #43-49 of the original Vampirella magazine from Warren Publishing. Those issues were first released from summer 1975 through spring 1976.

Classic Horror, Sci-Fi, and Fantasy Stories Return

The paperback archives can be read in any order. Each volume collects a new batch of stories featuring horror, science fiction, fantasy, and more.

The books also continue the ongoing epics of the Daughter of Drakulon. The sixth volume included different visions of Vampi from artists Leopold Sanchez and Jose Ortiz. It also featured the end of writer Flaxman Lowe’s run.

Bill DuBay Takes the Lead

In this seventh volume, Bill DuBay takes over as the primary architect of Vampirella’s stories.

The collection also features a strong mix of artists. Jose Gonzalez, the definitive illustrator of this era, returns alongside Gonzalo Mayo and Zesar Lopez.

Issue #49 marks a key moment in the run. It features the first appearance of the Blood Red Queen of Hearts, drawn by Esteban Maroto.

Issue #46 also stands out as an all-Vampi issue. It includes a retold origin for the character.

A Major Creator Lineup

The volume includes work from several notable creators.

Contributors across these issues include Len Wein, Luis Garcia, Ramon Torrents, Fernando Fernandez, Gerry Boudreau, Rafael Auraleon, Jose Ortiz, Isidro Mones, and more.

More Archives Ahead

The eighth volume will follow this collection with a major highlight from issue #50. That issue features a crossover story with Vampirella, Pantha, Fleur, and a special cameo by The Spirit.
