Image Comics and Ghost Machine will formally unveil The Unbelievables this May. The launch marks a rebranding and expansion of one of Ghost Machine’s four original universes, formerly known as Family Odysseys.
The new banner is anchored by the critically acclaimed ongoing series The Rocketfellers by Peter J. Tomasi and Francis Manapul, and Hornsby & Halo by Tomasi and Peter Snejbjerg. Joining the line is The Trillion Dollar Kid by Geoff Johns, Tomasi, and Stefano Simeone.
Special #0 Issues Launch the Event
To mark the debut, both The Rocketfellers and Hornsby & Halo will release special #0 issues in May. These prologue chapters serve as standalone entry points for new readers while planting key story seeds for longtime fans.
The #0 issues also set the stage for what comes next.
“Who Are the Unbelievables?” Begins in June
In June, the worlds collide in the four-part crossover event Who Are the Unbelievables? The storyline introduces several major new characters, led by The Trillion Dollar Kid.
Created by Geoff Johns, Peter J. Tomasi, and Francis Manapul, The Trillion Dollar Kid acts as both guide and catalyst. The character links stories, characters, and lore as the full scope of The Unbelievables begins to emerge.
“A boy has discovered there are extraordinary beings among us,” said Johns, writer and Ghost Machine co-founder. “A family from the future living in the present, two teenagers destined to rule heaven and hell, and many, many more. A 13-year-old boy the world has dubbed ‘The Trillion Dollar Kid’ is secretly tracking these miracles hiding in plain sight. He calls them ‘The Unbelievables.’ Why he’s searching for them, who else is out there, and what threat aims to corrupt them all will be revealed in our first Ghost Machine crossover event.”
A New Lens on a Growing Universe
Manapul says the #0 issues give readers their first look at Thomas Noble Townsend III, also known as The Trillion Dollar Kid.
“Tommy widens the lens,” Manapul said. “Through him, readers will begin to see just how vast this universe truly is.”
Driven by the Kid’s search for the one thing money cannot buy, the crossover unites the Rocketfeller family, Rose Hornsby, and Zachary Halo in a high-stakes adventure that lays the groundwork for future stories.
Expanding the Cast
“We’re continuing the stories of The Rocketfellers and Hornsby & Halo,” Tomasi said. “But this crossover kicks the doors open wider. It reveals new characters and new corners of this universe that have been waiting since we launched our titles in 2024.”
Among the new additions are The Deadtones, a rock band of misfit monsters on the run; The Curious Creatures of Dr. Moreau, where life takes a wild turn; and Jean Genie, a former servant finally free and learning what independence means in the modern world. These and more appear on the newly revealed Unbelievables map.
“One of the joys of Ghost Machine is true collaboration,” said Snejbjerg. “Each Unbelievable has a unique place within our growing library of characters.”

What binds them is not their secrets, but the bonds they form through love, friendship, and sacrifice as dangerous forces rise to exploit what the world will soon know as The Unbelievables.
All Ghost Machine titles, including Geiger, Hyde Street, Redcoat, Rook: Exodus, The Rocketfellers, and Hornsby & Halo, are also available digitally on platforms such as Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, and Google Play.
