American Mythology Productions is launching an all-new line of comic books based on the beloved 1985 vampire classic Fright Night, created and directed by Tom Holland. The first release is a prestige-format mini-series debuting this July. An ongoing monthly series will follow later this year.
A Direct Sequel to Fright Night: Senior Year
The new launch continues the story introduced in Fright Night: Senior Year, American Mythology’s hit five-issue series that revisited Charley Brewster and expanded the film’s legacy for a new generation.
Fright Night: Senior Year is available now as a trade paperback and a deluxe hardcover graphic novel. Fans can find it at comic shops nationwide or through the American Mythology webstore at americanmythology.net/shop.
A Horror Powerhouse Creative Team
The upcoming mini-series is written by acclaimed horror author James Kuhoric, known for Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ashand other cult horror projects. He is joined by writer G.O. Parsons, who penned the hit film Willy’s Wonderland starring Nicolas Cage.
Together, they expand the darkly seductive world of suburban vampires, revisiting familiar faces while introducing new threats lurking just beyond the picket fences.
Creators on Returning to Fright Night
“For me, Fright Night has always been the perfect vampire movie,” said Kuhoric. “It captures the charm, danger, humor, and sensuality that define classic vampire lore while grounding it in real human fear. It’s been my favorite vampire film since the first time I saw it, and getting to expand that world in comics is truly a dream project.”
Parsons echoed the sentiment. “Fright Night is one of those rare horror films that balances heart and horror flawlessly. The opportunity to step into that sandbox and explore new nightmares, while honoring what made the original so iconic, is incredibly exciting. Fans are in for something both nostalgic and boldly new.”
Building a Larger Fright Night Universe
The July mini-series will serve as the foundation for a broader Fright Night comic universe. American Mythology Productions plans additional story arcs and expansions later this year.
A New Novel Continues the Legacy
Beyond comics, fans can also support a new prose continuation of the franchise. A Fright Night novel titled Aftermath, written by original creator Tom Holland with co-author Jack Ulrich, is currently live on Kickstarter:

The novel promises an official continuation of the film’s legacy, offering a deeper dive into the chilling mythology of Jerry Dandrige and the world of Fright Night.
