Amazon Prime Video continues to build out its Tomb Raider TV series with a major wave of new casting announcements. Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs, Celia Imrie, Bill Paterson, and several others join the ensemble. Sophie Turner was previously confirmed to star as Lara Croft.
The series adapts the iconic video game franchise for television. It comes from co showrunners Phoebe Waller-Bridgeand Chad Hodge. Jonathan Van Tulleken directs and executive produces.
Returning Canon Characters
Several newly announced cast members step into established Tomb Raider roles:
- Martin Bobb-Semple plays Zip, Lara Croft’s trusted tech support and longtime friend.
- Jason Isaacs portrays Atlas DeMornay, Lara’s uncle.
- Bill Paterson appears as Winston, the Croft family’s longtime butler.
New Faces in Lara Croft’s World
The series also introduces a lineup of original and expanded characters:
- Jack Bannon as Gerry, Lara’s personal pilot and dedicated snack collector.
- John Heffernan as David, a weary government official pulled into Lara’s orbit.
- Celia Imrie as Francine, the champagne loving head of advancement at the British Museum.
- Paterson Joseph as Thomas Warner, a senior official tasked with cleaning up a major crisis.
- Sasha Luss as Sasha, a fierce and highly competitive new rival.
- Juliette Motamed as Georgia, a rule bound museum curator focused on proper preservation.
- Sigourney Weaver as Evelyn Wallis, a powerful figure eager to exploit Lara’s talents.
- August Wittgenstein as Lukas, an illegal raider with a shared past with Lara.
A New Lara Croft Era
Turner becomes the third actress to portray Lara Croft in live action. Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander previously played the role in feature films. Turner’s recent credits include The Staircase and Joan.
“I’ve been a long time fan of Tomb Raider and the character of Lara,” Turner said in a statement. “She has always felt very emboldened in a male dominated world. She’s a fierce female role model.”

Waller-Bridge praised the growing ensemble. “Tomb Raider boasts a plethora of iconic characters. I am thrilled to bring some personal and fan favorites to the screen while also introducing a few new rascals of our own,” she said. “This cast is beyond my wildest dreams.”
