Oni Press and William M. Gaines Agent, Inc. are bringing holiday horror back with Shiver SuspenStories 3 #1. The 56-page giant-sized issue arrives December 9 with a new collection of twisted seasonal stories from the world of EC Comics.
The release marks the third year for Shiver SuspenStories. This time, the publisher promises an even bigger dose of Christmas chaos, New Year’s nightmares, and the dark humor that has defined the series.
A New Round of Holiday Horror
The new issue brings together creators John Arcudi (B.P.R.D., The Mask), Sarah Gailey (Eat the Rich), Ryan Kelly (Stranger Things), David Lapham (Stray Bullets), and Jay Stephens (Dwellings). Oni Press is also teasing additional surprise guests for the oversized release.
The stories will continue EC Comics’ tradition of combining horror, dark comedy, and brutal twists. This installment will focus on winter madness, holiday greed, and other seasonal horrors wrapped in the publisher’s signature style.
Classic EC Horror Returns
Readers will also get another restored and remastered EC Comics classic from the Vault-Keeper’s collection. The archival story will join the new material as part of the 56-page package.
The publisher is leaning heavily into the macabre Christmas theme throughout the issue. Its warning is simple: some holiday stains do not disappear, especially when Luminol is involved.

Shiver SuspenStories 3 #1 will also feature covers from Dustin Weaver (Avengers, Infinity), Steve Lieber (Superman’s Pal Jimmy Olsen), Shawn McManus (Fables), and Rian Hughes (The Multiversity). Each artist contributes to the issue’s mix of classic EC imagery and holiday horror.
