Fan-favorite writer Patrick Kindlon and rising artist Ludovic Lalliat are teaming up for Regicide, a new ongoing fantasy series set to launch in August from Image Comics.
The series promises a brutal journey through Transylvania, blending horror, action, and dark fantasy in a high-stakes narrative.
A Deadly Mission Begins
Regicide follows a farmhand living a quiet life. That changes fast. Village elders order him to travel to the capital with a dangerous stranger. Their mission is clear. Kill the murderous viceroy of Transylvania.
The setup drives the story forward with urgency. It throws an ordinary man into a violent world filled with power, corruption, and survival.
A Dark Fantasy with Sharp Edges
The series draws inspiration from Dracula and the manga Berserk. It leans into intense action, supernatural elements, and heavy themes of betrayal.
Expect a story packed with dangerous encounters and morally complex choices. The tone stays aggressive and unflinching from the start.
Creators Promise a Relentless Experience
Kindlon emphasized the raw energy behind the project.
“Ludovic and I are going for it on this one,” he said. “True monster-of-the-issue storytelling where you are guaranteed sensational and sensual battles for the souls of our heroes every month. Violence you can feel in a world so dripping with evil the droplets will hit your head as you read. It’s submit to the Impaler or die on a pike.”
His comments highlight the creative direction. The team aims to deliver a visceral, high-impact reading experience with each issue.
Regicide #1 hits comic book shops on Wednesday, August 12.
