PlayStation’s June 2026 State of Play delivered a packed lineup of new trailers, release dates, and franchise updates. The show opened with Marvel’s Wolverine and ended with God of War Laufey, while several major studios used the event to lock in launch plans for late 2026 and 2027.
The presentation focused on action, horror, platforming, RPGs, and major licensed franchises. It also gave PlayStation 5 players a clearer view of what is coming next.
Marvel’s Wolverine Gets a Release Date
Insomniac Games put Marvel’s Wolverine at the center of the show. The game launches on PlayStation 5 on September 15, 2026.
The new footage showed Logan’s violent combat style, his history with mutant task force Team X, and a team-up with Jean Grey against the Reavers. The footage also featured Mystique and Sabretooth as part of the game’s broader story.
The game will include accessibility options at launch. Pre-order bonuses include the Classic Brown suit, Reflective Claws, one additional Technique Point, and four PlayStation Avatars featuring Mystique, Logan, Jean, and Sabretooth.
The Digital Deluxe Edition adds five exclusive suits, five exclusive claws, and three more Technique Points.
Marvel Tōkon Expands Its Roster
MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls added three major villains to its roster. Magneto, Green Goblin, and Carnage were confirmed during the showcase.
They join Doctor Doom as part of the Knights of Doom. The group will play a role in the game’s Episode Mode.
Rayman Returns in Retold Form
Ubisoft brought Rayman back with Rayman Legends Retold. The 3D reimagining launches on PS5 on October 1.
The game adds new content, narrative twists, fully voiced characters, and new musical stages. It also features an expanded soundtrack by Christophe Héral and Grant Kirkhope. Players can also enjoy up to four-player couch co-op.
“Rayman Legends Retold is our way of revisiting what makes Rayman so special, and re-telling that experience for a new generation of players. We wanted to preserve everything fans love, and Legends gave us the perfect foundation to expand Rayman’s lore, its world logic, and how everything connects together,” Brand Producer Loïc Gounon said.
Tomb Raider Heads Back to Its Roots
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis launches on February 12, 2027. Crystal Dynamics and co-developer Flying Wild Hog used the showcase to reveal new footage of Lara Croft’s next adventure.
The trailer showed rebuilt locations, gameplay from Peru’s Lost Valley, and familiar faces from the franchise’s history.
Survival and Supernatural Action Take the Stage
The Lost Wild is coming to PS5 in 2027. The survival horror game strands players on an island filled with dinosaurs. The focus is survival, not domination. Players must avoid creatures built around instincts, behavior, and place in the food chain.
Kemuri also arrives on PS5 in 2027. The supernatural action game comes from Tokyo-based studio Unseen and creative director Ikumi Nakamura. The story unfolds in Kemuri City, where life, death, and yokai collide.
Players can explore solo or in online co-op with up to two other players.
Action Games Fill Out the PlayStation Slate
Phantom Blade Zero returned with more fast action during State of Play. The game will receive a dedicated State of Play later in summer 2026. That presentation will include a full trailer and deeper look at its mechanics, features, and story.
Its PS5 launch is set for October 29.
No Rest for the Wicked also moved closer to its full release. Moon Studios will launch version 1.0 in October 2026 for PC and PS5. The update adds the final story arc, Horde Mode, a new class system, crossplay, cross-save, and more than 60 hours of new gameplay.
Dune, Dynasty Warriors, and End of Abyss Lock In Dates
Dune: Awakening comes to PS5 on September 22. The console version adds a single-player mode, a new chapter in the cinematic storyline, and additional improvements.
Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered arrives on October 1. The remaster revives Dynasty Warriors 3 and Dynasty Warriors 3: Xtreme Legends for PS5.
End of Abyss also launches on October 1, 2026.
Bancho The Chef Revealed for PS5
Bancho The Chef is in development for PS5 with no confirmed release date. The standalone Dave the Diver prequel blends cooking sim structure with a globe-trotting RPG format.
The reveal adds another new project from the culinary team behind Dave the Diver.
PlayStation Sets Up a Busy Road Ahead
The June 2026 State of Play gave players a broad look at Sony’s upcoming calendar. Marvel’s Wolverine led the show, but the full lineup stretched across major franchises, revived classics, horror, action, RPGs, and platforming.
For PlayStation 5 owners, the message was clear. The next wave of games is already taking shape, and the schedule now stretches deep into 2027.
