Netflix Sets Cast For ‘The Woods’ Adaptation

The Woods

Netflix has revealed the lead cast for its latest Harlan Coben adaptation, The Woods. Tom Bateman will star as Paul “Cope” Copeland, with Michelle Keegan as Lucy Silverfield. Keegan previously appeared in the Coben hit Fool Me Once. This marks the 14th Coben series produced for the platform.

Creative Team Behind the Series

Coben serves as executive producer through Final Twist Productions. Danny Brocklehurst leads the writing team and also executive produces. The series is produced by Quay Street Productions, with Nicola Shindler and Richard Fee as executive producers.

Directors include Andy De Emmony, Claire Tailyour, and Isher Sahota. The eight-episode series brings together a team with strong experience in crime and drama.

Expansive Ensemble Cast

The supporting cast includes Mandeep Dhillon, Pearce Quigley, Rade Sherbedgia, James Buckley, Shannon Watson, Pamela Nomvete, Amelia Eve, Kerry Howard, Roger Barclay, Simon Lowe, Dean Fagan, Tom Allen, Tracy-Ann Oberman, Charlotte Beaumont, and Christopher Harper.

Story Overview

The Woods centers on Paul “Cope” Copeland. Twenty years ago, his sister Camille vanished from a summer camp in the woods. The tragedy shattered his family.

Now a top barrister and single father to his 10-year-old daughter, Cope has rebuilt his life. That stability collapses when a body surfaces. The victim was believed to have been murdered alongside Camille.

The discovery forces Cope to question everything. He begins to believe his sister may still be alive. He reunites with his first love, Lucy Silverfield, and starts searching for answers. Their investigation uncovers years of lies, cover-ups, and buried family secrets that threaten to destroy his life.

Coben and Brocklehurst on the Series

“The Woods is a haunting and very personal story,” Coben said. “It has everything you expect from us, twisty, turning, gasp-inducing, but at the core is a story of old love and yearning. Working with a cast led by Tom Bateman, Michelle Keegan, Mandeep Dhillon, Pearce Quigley, James Buckley, Tom Allen, it’s an embarrassment of riches.”

Brocklehurst added, “It’s a great pleasure to be working with Netflix on another twisty emotional thriller. And what a cast we have gathered. Reuniting with Michelle Keegan is a dream, and to be working with huge talent like Tom Bateman, Pearce Quigley, Kerry Howard and James Buckley is a joy.”
