Hasbro has announced a new licensing partnership with Nintendo to create products based on “The Legend of Zelda” franchise. The multi-year collaboration will begin in 2027 and bring the long-running video game series into Hasbro’s action figure and role-play lineup.
First Figures Coming to San Diego Comic-Con
Fans will get their first look at the partnership during San Diego Comic-Con, which runs July 23-26. Hasbro plans to reveal three six-inch scale figures based on the franchise at the event.
“For decades, The Legend of Zelda franchise has captivated fans through its deep lore, unforgettable characters and enduring sense of discovery,” says Billy Lagor, president, toys and board games, Hasbro. “By combining Nintendo’s iconic storytelling with Hasbro’s leadership in action and role-play, we’re delivering toys that invite fans to play, explore and forge their own epic adventures.”
Zelda Continues to Expand Beyond Games
“The Legend of Zelda” series has combined exploration and discovery with action and adventure since its first title was released in the US in 1987. The franchise has since grown into one of Nintendo’s most recognizable properties.
Its expansion beyond video games is also continuing in Hollywood. A live-action film based on “The Legend of Zelda” video game series is currently in development.
