Skybound Announces Major Reprints Across the Invincible Universe

BattleBeast Invincible Universe

Skybound and Image Comics are bringing the heat for the first-ever Invincible Month. The publishers announced a wave of reprints across the blockbuster Invincible Universe line after massive sellouts at the distributor level.

All six issues of Invincible Universe: Battle Beast and the debut issue of Capes have sold out and are heading back to comic shops with new printings. The reissues arrive March 18, 2026, timed to meet overwhelming fan demand.

Battle Beast Returns in Full

Every issue of Invincible Universe: Battle Beast, the biggest new series launch of 2025, will be back on shelves. Readers can pick up new covers from co-creator and artist Ryan Ottley, series colorist Annalisa Leoni, Gabriel Rodriguez, Derek Charm, Geoff Darrow with Dave McCaig, and Jason Howard.

The series from Robert Kirkman and Ryan Ottley returns in its entirety. The timing aligns with Invincible Month, but the focus remains on Battle Beast’s relentless hunt for the strongest opponent in the universe.

Capes #1 Gets a New Life

The demand does not stop with Battle Beast. Capes #1 will also return to stores with an all-new cover by Conor Hughes.

Capes explores a different side of the Invincible Universe. It follows working-class superheroes who clock in, save the world, and race the end of their shift. The remastered second printing features new art and updated dialogue from Robert Kirkman and artist Mark Englert. It also sets the stage for all-new stories beginning with issue #7 in May.

Creators React to the Sellouts

“Nice try, everyone!” said Robert Kirkman. “The whole point of this is to have the Invincible Universe back on the stands. Now you guys went and bought all the copies. Well, we’ll just have to make more now, won’t we? And if you buy all of these, we’ll just print it again. Capes is back. Battle Beast is back. We’re not going anywhere!”

Sean Mackiewicz, SVP and Publisher, echoed the enthusiasm.

“The Invincible Universe continues to be the Best Superhero Universe in Comics,” Mackiewicz said. “Just like Battle Beast, our comics are eager to find competition better than them and are left wanting. Battle Beast, Capes, and all things Invincible are here to stay.”

More Invincible on the Way

Invincible Month runs throughout March 2026 and includes reprints of the most in-demand issues, new collections, and Invincible team-up variants across Image Comics titles. The celebration is timed to the debut of season four of the hit animated series on Prime Video on March 18.

The franchise continues to expand beyond comics. Skybound and Quarter Up will also release Invincible VS, a brutal 3v3 tag fighting game. The game will be available exclusively through comic shops in both Standard Edition for $59.99 and Collector’s Edition for $109.99. Both bundles include an Invincible #1 variant cover with new art by co-creator Cory Walker. The Standard Edition also features direct market exclusive packaging with Walker’s artwork.

All titles arrive on March 18, 2026, at comic book shops and on digital platforms including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, and Google Play.
