Prom Night Never Ends In Dead Teenagers #2

Dead Teenagers 2

This spring, writer Jude Ellison S. Doyle and artist Caitlin Yarsky return with DEAD TEENAGERS #2. The series delivers sharp humor, 1990s obsession, and relentless horror. Every page pushes the story forward.

Oni Press releases a first look at the issue as part of its ongoing slate of creator driven comics. The book features a standout homage cover by Yarsky, inspired by the cult favorite Jawbreakers. Naomi Franq provides the main cover. Keyla Valerio contributes a variant edition.

“We had a lot of fun cooking up ideas for DEAD TEENAGERS variant covers,” Yarsky said. “I designed mine as homages to teen horror and thrillers from the 90s. We wanted the camp and nostalgia. We also wanted to confront the toxic messages Gen X and millennial kids absorbed. That tension sits at the heart of the comic.”

Prom Night 1997 traps five friends in a loop of murder and dismemberment. Death resets every 24 hours. Escape never comes.

Now time throws survivors J.T., Ryder, and Brandy into adulthood. They wake up in 2026. Their bodies age. Their minds do not. Jobs, families, and money surround them. Trauma follows them everywhere.

Adulthood brings consequences they cannot reset. Bad decisions stick. Regret compounds. Some of them start to miss the certainty of dying on schedule.

The question remains. Why did this happen? Can they return to prom night? And does the massacre hold the truth behind their torment?

“Variant covers are the most fun part of a release,” Doyle said. “Different artists bring different interpretations. Everyone pushed hard on this one. Gore. 90s deep cuts. Sassy magazine energy. The terror and the humor sit side by side.”

Scream collides with Freaky Friday when DEAD TEENAGERS #2 hits comic shops on April 15.
