Dynamite Entertainment and Coffin Comics announced a co‑publishing partnership at Swornfest 2026 in Mesa, Arizona. The agreement will revive the original Chaos! Comics line. Both companies plan limited‑time reprint collections and merchandise. Sales will run through crowdfunding campaigns and the direct market.
The first project is a three‑volume Kickstarter for Evil Ernie. The set will collect the character’s original adventures for the first time. All three volumes will exceed 1,500 pages in total. Each edition will have a unique cover. The collection also includes Smiley, the Psychotic Button’s specials, and solo stories. Lady Death, Purgatori and Chastity appear throughout. Key storylines such as Youth Gone Wild, The Resurrection, Revenge, Straight to Hell and Destroyer are featured.
Future Kickstarter campaigns will focus on Lady Death, Purgatori, Chastity and the broader Coffin universe.
Additional Products and Collectibles
Dynamite and Coffin will announce book formats, pricing and launch dates as details are confirmed. Planned extras include limited‑edition issue reprints with metal or glow‑in‑the‑dark finishes, new artwork from top creators, trading cards, posters, prints, T‑shirts, patches and challenge coins.
Voices from the Partners
Nick Barrucci, Dynamite CEO and Publisher, said, “Brian and I have been working together for over 30 years. Chaos! was always about rebellion and electrifying art. Bringing this series back to print has been a major goal. Fans have wanted this, and the reunion feels right.”
Brian Pulido added, “Working on the Chaos! Library series is a dream come true. I’m immersed in over 6,000 pages of story and art I helped create. The material is over‑the‑top, unapologetic and ready to kick your ass. Let’s descend into Where Darkness Dwells and ride the lightning together.”
Francisca Pulido, President of Coffin and Brian’s partner, noted, “The 90s were an explosive time for comics. Evil Ernie, Purgatori, Chasity and the rest felt like family. This partnership lets fans relive those memories, and I get to hold the children again.”
History of Chaos! Comics
Chaos! Comics debuted in 1991 with Evil Ernie, created by Brian Pulido and illustrated by the late Steven Hughes. The line expanded quickly, adding Lady Death, Purgatori, Chastity, Jade, Bad Kitty, Lady Demon and more. Hughes defined the visual style that influenced later artists such as Ed Benes, Mike Deodato, Al Rio, Jim Balent and Ivan Reis.
Dynamite acquired the Chaos! library (excluding Lady Death) in 2010. Since then, the characters have appeared in best‑selling comics and crossovers, working with creators like Tim Seeley and Mirka Andolfo and crossing over with Vampirella, Red Sonja and Hack/Slash.
Pulido continues to write Lady Death stories and engages directly with the “Sworn Nation.” New characters such as La Muerta, Lady Satanus and Hellwitch have joined the roster, keeping the brand fresh with successful Kickstarters and convention appearances.
