Prime Video has released the official trailer for its Spider-Man-based drama series Spider-Noir. The footage puts Nicolas Cage front and center as a hard-boiled detective facing off against Brendan Gleeson’s powerful crime boss.
The trailer premiered in Mexico City during the pop culture festival CCXPMX26.
Nicolas Cage Takes the Lead
The series marks Cage’s first leading role in a television project. He plays Ben Reilly, an aging private investigator in 1930s New York. Reilly struggles to move forward while confronting his past as the city’s only superhero.
In the trailer, Reilly rediscovers his powers. That journey puts him on a collision course with Gleeson’s Irish crime boss, who appears to be Silvermane from the comics.
A Distinct Visual Approach
Prime Video is giving Spider-Noir a unique visual rollout. Viewers will be able to watch the series in two formats. One version is presented in “Authentic Black & White.” The other is “True-Hue Full Color.”
The approach reflects the original comic’s muted, monochromatic tone while offering a modern color option.
A Stand-Alone Story
The series draws inspiration from the Spider-Man Noir comics. However, it stands apart from other adaptations. It is not connected to Sony’s live-action Spider-Man films or the Into the Spider-Verse franchise.
The cast includes Lamorne Morris, Li Jun Li, Karen Rodriguez, Abraham Popoola, and Jack Huston, alongside Gleeson. Spider-Noir premieres May 27 on Prime Video. The platform will release all episodes at once for binge viewing.
