Even the Daughter of Drakulon needs a vacation. Unfortunately for Vampirella, trouble does not take holidays.
Dynamite Entertainment sends the iconic vampire to Barcelona in the Vampirella Helliday Special for 2026. What starts as a winter getaway quickly turns into another supernatural fight for survival.
Erik Burnham Returns to Vampirella
Writer Erik Burnham continues his growing run with one of comics’ most famous vampires. His previous work includes the hit series Vampirella / Dejah Thoris.
Burnham is also writing the crossover Pathfinder / Vampirella: Blade of Darkness, which is publishing alongside the new special. The latest story gives him another chance to throw Vampirella into a supernatural adventure with unexpected complications.
Wagner Reis Returns After More Than 15 Years
Artist Wagner Reis also returns to Vampirella for the special. Reis was the first artist to draw the character during Dynamite’s era with the franchise.
He illustrated the opening six-issue story of Vampirella’s 2010 flagship series, known as the “Crown of Thorns” arc. The Helliday Special marks his return to the character after more than 15 years.
A Vacation That Does Not Stay Peaceful
Vampirella’s life rarely leaves room for relaxation. Her adventures regularly involve aliens, vampires, alien vampires, interdimensional travel, personal drama and a constant thirst for both knowledge and blood.
That makes a trip to Spain sound especially appealing. Vampirella heads to historic Barcelona hoping for some much-needed rest and relaxation.
The peace does not last. Vampirella may take a day off, but chaos has no intention of doing the same.
Bloodthirsty creatures lurk around the world, and Barcelona proves no exception. Vampirella soon discovers that the only way to enjoy any peace may be to send her latest enemies straight to hell.
New Covers and a Mystery Blind Bag
Burnham and Reis lead the creative team, while Cat Staggs, Meghan Hetrick and cosplayer Lorraine provide covers for the issue. Each brings a different take on Vampirella’s latest winter adventure.
The release will also include a premium mystery blind bag. Each bag contains three limited-edition copies randomly selected from a collection of exclusive variants.
Vampirella’s Holiday Begins in December
Fans can sink their teeth into the Vampirella Helliday Special when it arrives December 9. The one-shot brings together a returning artist, an experienced Vampirella writer and a vacation that quickly turns into another bloody battle.
