Vampirella returns this April with a bold new chapter in her long-running saga. The next “season” of stories comes from writer Christopher Priest and artist Davis Goetten. Priest is known for Justice League and Superman Lost. He now continues his defining work on the franchise.
The new storyline launches in Vampirella #1. The issue is designed as a clear entry point for both new and returning readers. It also continues an epic narrative that has been unfolding for more than five years.
Draculina Faces Her Darkest Test
Vampirella is not the only powerful blood-drinker from Drakulon. Her sister, Draculina, stands at the center of this new arc.
Draculina has lost her Vampiri powers. She has also lost the baby she once took from Vampirella. Now bound to humanity, she struggles to hold herself together. Her fragile mental state begins to crack when her thirst for blood unexpectedly returns.
The resurgence forces her to confront the darkness that controlled her for centuries. She sets out on a dangerous journey to break free from her past. She searches for new answers. Failure could mean losing herself forever.
Vampirella’s role in this unfolding crisis remains a central mystery.
Christopher Priest’s Historic Run Continues
Christopher Priest remains the driving creative force behind the series. He continues his critically acclaimed approach to the longest-running vampire comic in history.
Priest holds the record for the longest continuous run on Vampirella. His tenure now spans more than 90 issues dating back to 2019. Under his leadership, the series continues to expand its mythology and audience.
The franchise is also approaching a major milestone. Vampirella is moving toward its historic Issue #700. With legacy numbering, the new Vampirella #1 also serves as Issue #688. The landmark anniversary is less than a year away.
Dynamite plans to celebrate the moment with longtime fans and new readers discovering the character for the first time.
Variant Covers and Collector Editions
The debut issue features a wide range of high-profile variant covers. Artists include Lucio Parrillo, Derrick Chew, Joseph Michael Linsner, and Elias Chatzoudis. The lineup also includes a cosplay cover featuring model Rachel Hollon.
Collectors will also find premium mystery blind bags available for the release. Each bag contains three limited-edition variant covers. The selections are chosen at random from an exclusive pool created for the promotion.
These special editions add another layer of excitement to Vampirella’s latest relaunch.
