Dynamite Entertainment and Warner Bros. Discovery launch a new roleplaying tabletop game book based on the ThunderCats franchise. Fans can preorder it now on Kickstarter.
A 5e-Compatible Adventure From Lynnvander Studios
Lynnvander Studios designs and writes the new campaign and setting book. It is fully compatible with 5e. Contributors include Tommy Gofton, Devin Wilson, Bryan CP Steele, Josh Derksen, and Adam Petkovic. The team has partnered with Dynamite before on the Reanimator game and other licensed projects that built their strong reputation with tabletop players.
A Complete Guide to Third Earth
The book spans nearly 250 pages of mechanics, lore, and official artwork. Players can create their own adventures inspired by classic Saturday morning episodes or the current Dynamite comics. The game’s systems let players tap into Thundrillium to power technology, pilot starships, cast ancient spells, and enter battles where laser rifles and mystic blades collide. It aims to deliver the full action and spectacle of ThunderCats for game nights long into the future.
Deep Lore for Dedicated Fans
The book also doubles as a rich source of franchise history. Readers will find details on the Code of Thundera, major artifacts such as the Book of Omens and the Eye of Thundera, and key events from the Great Migration to the rise of Mumm-Ra.
New Subclasses, Backgrounds, and Playable Species
Players can build characters from new subclasses such as the Mechanist, Path of Collision, College of Omens, Ancient Spirits of Evil, Good Domain, Circle of the Croft, Operator, Warrior of the Claw, Oath of Destiny, Evil-Chaser, Heckler, Metamorphosis Sorcery, Mongor Patron, and Magician. Background options allow creativity, while Thunderian characters can emphasize strength, speed, toughness, cleverness, wisdom, or pride. Additional playable species include Humans, Snarfs, Berbils, Snowfolk, Tuska, and several Mu’Tant factions.
Iconic Characters and Expansive Worlds
The book provides bios, skills, and stats for nearly every major character in the franchise. Players can encounter or emulate Lion-O, Cheetara, Bengali, Tygra, Jaga, Lynx-O, Panthro, Pumyra, WilyKat, WilyKit, Snarf, and many villains. Settings from Third Earth, New Thundera, and even alternate dimensions are mapped out. Equipment and vehicles are cataloged with supporting visuals and a full index.
