The Eisner Award-winning team behind Paper Girls will reunite for Roam, a new ongoing series from Image Comics. Saga writer Brian K. Vaughan and Catwoman: Lonely City creator Cliff Chiang will launch their first new ongoing collaboration in over a decade in February 2027.
An Adventure About Finding Your Team
Roam explores the power and peril of entering adulthood. The adventure follows the search for the people who become your team in life.
Vaughan and Chiang will work with collaborators Matt Wilson and Jared Fletcher. Chiang has already drawn the first several issues.
“Cliff has already drawn the first several issues of Roam, and I can’t wait for readers to see this breathtakingly original world he and our gifted collaborators Matt Wilson and Jared Fletcher helped create,” said Vaughan. “Thanks so much to the readers and retailers out here who are up for exploring something new with us!”
The ‘Paper Girls’ Team Returns
Chiang described the project as a new direction for the creators. He also credited Image Comics with supporting the partnership that began with Paper Girls.
“There’s no bigger thrill than breathing life into new worlds with your friends, that electric feeling of collaboration. Roam is unlike anything Brian and I have done before, but inspired by our love for comics as a medium. It’s been a joy to reunite with our trusted teammates Matt and Jared, and I’m incredibly grateful to Image Comics for continuing the creative partnership and exploration that began with Paper Girls. It’s going to be a wild ride!”
Image Comics will launch Roam with an extra-length, 50-page first issue. Roam #1 arrives at comic book shops and on digital platforms on Wednesday, February 24, 2027.
