Dynamite Entertainment is rolling out a new Compact Editions line designed to bring top storylines to more readers.
The publisher kicks off the initiative in June with Pathfinder: Dark Waters Rising. The line spotlights fan-favorite and critically praised stories. It creates an easy entry point for new readers and makes it simple to share comics with others.
Affordable Format Packs in Value
The debut volume delivers 224 pages for $9.99. It uses a 5.5 by 8.5 inch format that keeps it compact and accessible.
The collection gathers issues #1 through #6 of Dynamite’s original 2012 Pathfinder series. It also adds the 10-page bonus story “The Last Mosswood Goblin.” More than 30 pages of worldbuilding content expand the story and support the tabletop roleplaying experience.
Creative Team Drives the Adventure
Bestselling author Jim Zub leads the story. He brings experience from titles such as Conan the Barbarian, Skullkickers, Wayward, and several Marvel Comics projects.
Artist Andrew Huerta joins Zub, along with additional contributors.
Heroes Confront a Rising Threat
Valeros leads the group with skill and confidence. He relies on his sword and his allies. The team includes the sorceress Seoni, rogue Merisiel, wizard Ezren, ranger Harsk, and cleric Kyra.
The group faces a growing danger. The goblin tribes of Varisia are uniting in new ways. The heroes must respond before the threat escalates.
A Strategic Entry Point for Readers
Dynamite positions Compact Editions as a gateway into its catalog. The lower price and bundled content give new readers a clear starting point and offer strong value to existing fans.
The publisher is urging retailers to stock the line and encouraging readers to jump in. Additional volumes in the Compact Editions line are already in development.
