Dynamite Entertainment is opening 2025 with a new adventure from the world of Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. The publisher announced The Shiver of Christmas Town, a four-issue limited series debuting in January. The story comes from acclaimed writer Torunn Grønbekk, known for Red Sonja, Thor, and Venom.
A Mischievous Holiday Journey
The series invites fans back to Halloween Town for a story full of tricks, treats, and holiday chaos. When Dr. Finkelsteinunveils his newest creation—a strange but adorable creature—Sally is asked to care for it. But things quickly spiral when Lock, Shock, and Barrel get their hands on the creature and head toward Christmas Town.
A Creative Team Steeped in Gothic Magic
Grønbekk teams up with artist Edu Menna, whose credits include Army of Darkness, KISS, and Alice Cooper. His dark, dynamic art brings the eerie charm of Halloween Town to life. The creative team also includes colorist Adriano Augustoand letterer Taylor Esposito.

Spectacular Covers and Continuing the Legacy
Each issue features cover art from superstar illustrators Jae Lee, Soo Lee, and Alan Quah, along with special variant covers showcasing art from the original film.
The Shiver of Christmas Town follows Dynamite’s recent success with Long Live the Pumpkin Queen: The Graphic Novel, which adapted the best-selling book into comic form. The new series continues Dynamite’s growing partnership with Disney and expands the ever-beloved universe of The Nightmare Before Christmas.
