Che Grayson and Adam Gorham are returning to the world of Exquisite Corpses. The Absolute Catwoman writer and The Infernal Hulk artist will team again for Exquisite Corpses: Fox Mask Killer, the second Exquisite Corpses spinoff series set to hit shelves. The five-issue limited series will arrive this September from Tiny Onion and Image Comics.
Grayson and Gorham previously worked together on Exquisite Corpses Season One #4. That issue featured a tense showdown between Fox Mask Killer and Lady Carolina. Now the creators will dig into the backstory of the fan-favorite sword-wielding killer.
The Creative Team Returns to the Kill Zone
The series will also feature Eisner Award-winning colorist Jordie Bellaire of The Nice House and Redlands. Critically acclaimed letterer Becca Carey of Radiant Black will also join the creative team.
The launch issue will include covers by Gorham, Annie Wu of Hawkeye, Ito of Something is Killing the Childrencovers, Mike Huddleston of Decorum, Inhyuk Lee of The Ultimates covers, and Exquisite Corpses co-creator Michael Walsh of The Silver Coin and Universal Monsters: Frankenstein.
Walsh’s variant will come polybagged with a collectible trading card tied to Exquisite Corpses: The Game, which recently succeeded on Kickstarter. Walsh will also provide a special Witchblade team-up variant cover.
Grayson Pulls Back the Mask
“From the moment James and Michael welcomed me into the world of Exquisite Corpses, I knew It was something special,” said Grayson. “I gravitated instantly to Fox Mask Killer, a character whose design alone provoked a rich backstory and undeniable aura. The biggest treat for me as a writer was the challenge of bringing depth to a character whose face readers would never see…until now. With this new limited series, the mask finally comes off, and I couldn’t be more excited to team up again with my best mate Adam alongside stellar talents Jordie and Becca. This is a dream project for me and I think fans of Fox Mask Killer and the Exquisite Corpses series are going to be very happy with the high stakes and even higher emotions thrill ride we have her on.”
Gorham Returns to a Blood-Soaked World
“I’m thrilled about returning to the blood-thirsty world of Exquisite Corpses,” said Gorham. “The experience on Season One of the series was so fun and unique. My first issue, which brought Che and I together, focused on Fox Mask and Lady Carolina, and in the end it was clear to everyone involved that there was much more to explore with those characters. So here we are! Che and the ‘Onions’ have cracked a dynamite story filled with brutal action and razor sharp characters, and I have the great pleasure to draw it all.”
Fox Mask Killer Wants Out
Among killers-for-hire, only a few assassins inspire fear in other assassins. The enigmatic Fox Mask Killer stands at the top of that list.
Now she wants something even she cannot easily take. She wants out.
The only person who may offer her a way out of her old life could be the devil herself. The series reveals the thrilling and tragic backstory of one of Exquisite Corpses’ most emblematic killers.
A Growing Horror Franchise
Exquisite Corpses became one of the biggest original comics debuts of 2025. More than 700K issues have sold to date.
The series marked the best debut comic for five-time Eisner Award-winning writer Tynion in more than three years. He created the series with artist Walsh and the “Corpse Crew,” a lineup of a dozen creators.
The franchise continues to expand beyond Exquisite Corpses: Fox Mask Killer. The first spinoff, Exquisite Corpses: Rascal Randy, will hit shelves this July. That series comes from writer Tyler Boss, artist Dylan Burnett, colorist Bellaire, and letterer Carey.
A third limited series, Exquisite Corpses: Lone Gunman, is also planned. Absolute: Green Arrow scribe Pornsak Pichetshote will write the series, with fan-favorite artist Alberto Ponticelli of Unknown Soldier drawing it.
The line will also include an anthology one-shot, Exquisite Corpses: Book of the Dead, ahead of Exquisite Corpses Season Two. A feature film adaptation is also in development with Tiny Onion and Lyrical Media.
Exquisite Corpses: Fox Mask Killer #1 will be available at comic book shops and on digital platforms on Wednesday, September 16.
