Apple TV is adding another high-profile series to its growing lineup. The streamer announced “Disavowed,” a new action thriller starring James Marsden. The ongoing series comes from writers and creators Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, known for their work on Iron Man and Uncharted.
James Marsden Leads the Series
Marsden stars as legendary CIA Case Officer Brad Griffin. The veteran operative is abruptly fired while tracking an elusive assassin tied to the murder of one of his colleagues.
Cast out from the intelligence world and stripped of his status, Brad takes matters into his own hands. He sets out to claim the $15 million federal bounty placed on the assassin, pushing him into a dangerous global pursuit where the rules no longer apply.
Creative Team Behind the Series
“Disavowed” comes from Apple Studios and is based on an original idea from Marcum and Holloway.
Marcum, Holloway, Marsden, and Tom Spezialy will executive produce the series. Production will come from Blue Marble Pictures, with Theresa Kang and Caroline Garity serving as executive producers.
Blue Marble Pictures previously produced the acclaimed Apple drama Pachinko.
Apple TV Continues Expanding Its Original Programming
Since launching in November 2019, Apple TV has continued building a strong lineup of original series, films, documentaries, live sports, and family programming.
The platform has earned hundreds of industry honors, including major wins for Ted Lasso, The Studio, and Severance.
Its film slate has also produced major awards contenders, including the Best Picture winner CODA and the racing drama F1, which Apple says became the highest-grossing sports feature of all time.
