American Mythology Productions celebrates the 10th anniversary of American Mythology Comics this spring. The event aligns with the publisher’s return to a full publishing schedule.
Hiatus and recovery
The company paused publishing after Diamond Comic Distributors filed for bankruptcy in 2025. The collapse disrupted distribution across the industry. American Mythology navigated the turmoil and is now moving forward with renewed momentum and a stronger strategy.
New distribution partnership
For its relaunch, American Mythology has teamed with Prana Publishers. The partnership will promote the full line of titles directly to comic‑book retailers. Details on which distributors will carry the books will be announced soon.
Leadership perspective
“Reaching our 10th anniversary is both humbling and energizing,” said James Kuhoric, President of American Mythology. “The past year presented unprecedented challenges for publishers, but it also gave us the chance to refocus and rebuild. We’re excited to return stronger than ever, with an expanded slate of titles and a renewed commitment to our retail partners and fans.”
Legacy of licensed horror
Over the decade, American Mythology has become a premier producer of licensed horror comics. Notable series include Fright Night, Return of the Living Dead, Hatchet, Silent Night, Deadly Night, Valentine Bluffs Massacre, and many others. The company lives by its motto: “If it bleeds ink, American Mythology prints it.”
“Our identity has always been rooted in horror,” Kuhoric added. “We’ve worked with legendary properties and treat those worlds with deep respect while pushing creative boundaries. Our horror comics are bold, authentic, and created by talent who understand what fans want from these iconic franchises.”
Prana’s outlook
“We’re thrilled to work with American Mythology at this pivotal moment,” said Atom Freeman of Prana: Direct Market Solutions. “Their catalog of licensed horror properties is second to none. We look forward to reintroducing their full line to retailers and building excitement for what’s next.”
Looking ahead
In addition to the anniversary celebration, American Mythology will soon announce new projects and properties. The publisher remains committed to high‑quality storytelling and bold creative voices. More updates will be shared in the coming weeks.
