Summer Game Fest delivered a wide wave of game announcements, trailers, release dates, and franchise updates. The lineup stretched across Star Wars, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Gundam, Among Us, Hitman, Sonic, racing games, RPGs, horror, and online worlds.
The show gave publishers a stage to promote both 2026 releases and several 2027 titles. It also showed how much licensed entertainment now drives the gaming calendar.
Star Wars Expands Across Tactics and Racing
Star Wars Zero Company gave fans a stronger look at its tactical gameplay. The single-player turn-based tactics game launches August 27, 2026. Bit Reactor is developing the title in collaboration with Electronic Arts and Lucasfilm Games.
Players command Hawks, a former Republic officer who builds a squad of operatives during the Clone Wars. The team includes a disillusioned clone trooper voiced by Dee Bradley Baker, a Mandalorian from Clan Verminoth, a Tognath Jedi Padawan, and other recruits.
The story follows the hunt for Kundri Fathom, the leader of a Separatist-aligned cult.
“Our team has poured everything we love about Star Wars into Zero Company,” said Greg Foertsch, CEO and Creative Director at Bit Reactor. “We’ve worked hand-in-hand with Lucasfilm Games to create an authentic Star Wars story packed with unique new characters, robust character customization, a new ship, Separatist Droids, and much more, all rooted in the conflict of the Clone Wars.”
Star Wars: Galactic Racer launches October 6, 2026. The game reimagines racing in the Outer Rim after the fall of the Empire. Players enter the Galactic League, an unsanctioned racing circuit built around syndicates, revenge, reputation, and high-speed risk.
TMNT: The Last Ronin Confirms Its Developer
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin confirmed a major development update. PlatinumGames is making the AAA action-adventure game for Paramount Games.
The title follows the last surviving Ninja Turtle on a mission for vengeance. Platforms include PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The release date remains TBA.
“Strong storytelling is what gives a franchise its staying power, and games are one of the most powerful ways for fans to step inside that story,” said Shawn Kittelsen, senior vice president and head of creative and production at Paramount Games.
Gundam and AION2 Join the Lineup
Gundam: Rogue Orbit is coming in 2027 to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Bandai Namco Studios is developing the high-mobility action game.
The game features a new Gundam universe, cinematic story, and fast melee combat.
AION2 is set for a global launch in September 2026 on PC. Pre-registration opened June 6. The official site highlights four-player dungeons, including Krao Cave, Urugugu Canyon, Fire Temple, and Draupnir.
Among Us Expands on Screen and in Games
Among Us Story: On Guard expands the franchise with a narrative adventure through space. Players take on the role of shipwide security and must prove their innocence while completing tasks, gathering clues, and facing multiple endings.
The game has no confirmed release date.
The Among Us animated series is now streaming on Paramount+.
Hitman, 007, and Espionage Return
Hitman Classic Trilogy Remastered is coming in 2027 from Saber Interactive and IO Interactive.
IO Interactive also revealed a Year One content roadmap for 007 First Light. The release timing for that content remains TBA.
Horror and Dark Fantasy Make a Strong Showing
The Blood of Dawnwalker arrives September 3, 2026. Rebel Wolves revealed more from the dark fantasy RPG and teased its future.
SAW Genesis was announced as a new asymmetrical multiplayer horror game from Bloober Team and Lionsgate. Its release date remains TBA.
Lords of the Fallen II is set for fall 2026. The new trailer confirmed the Steam version and showed more of the sequel’s dark fantasy action.
Anime, Sci-Fi, and Online Worlds Push Forward
Wuthering Waves is crossing over with Cyberpunk 2077 on June 8, 2026. The collaboration brings together two major genre franchises for a limited-time event.
Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance is coming in 2027. Capcom revealed new details for the large-scale DLC during Summer Game Fest.
Sea of Remnants was revealed as a new ocean adventure RPG from NetEase Games. Its release date remains TBA.
Soulframe: Preludes also received a gameplay trailer, with no launch date confirmed.
Sword of Legends showed combat gameplay and is confirmed for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. A release date remains TBA.
Racing Games Pick Up Speed
Hot Wheels: Infinite Rush launches September 24, 2026. Milestone and Mattel announced the new racing game during the Summer Game Fest cycle.
Sonic Racing CrossWorlds is adding DLC tied to Godzilla and Evangelion. Sega also teased Sonic Pico Park as part of another year of Sonic Racing CrossWorlds content. Both remain TBA.
Clutch, the open-world driving experience from Maverick Games, is set for spring 2027. The reveal also highlighted its star-studded cast.
Virtua Fighter Crossroads will launch in 2027. Sega revealed the trailer and a 20-minute showcase for the next era of the fighting franchise.
More Release Dates Fill the Schedule
Attack on Titan 3 launches July 1, 2026. The game adapts the world-renowned anime story from beginning to end.
Grounded 2: Into the Abyss launches August 11, 2026. Mafia: The Old Country also receives its Man of Honor DLC on August 11.
RuneScape: Dragonwilds leaves early access and reaches full launch on September 15, 2026. PlayStation also confirmed it will come to PS5 in the future as a day-one PlayStation Plus Game Catalog title.
Control Resonant launches globally on PS5 on September 24, 2026. Remedy’s story trailer follows Dylan through a Manhattan warped by paranatural forces. Jesse Faden also returns.
Chronicles: Medieval revealed gameplay and will enter early access in 2026. Crossfire was announced as a premium single-player experience, with no release date confirmed.
An Eggstremely Hard Game launches July 24, 2027. 1666 Amsterdam revealed a 30-minute prologue, which is available now, while the full game remains TBA.
Last Harbor was revealed with a TBA launch window. The open-world survival title from tinyBuild challenges players to live at sea and brave the shore.
Summer Game Fest Shows the Depth of the Gaming Slate
Summer Game Fest gave players a broad look at what is coming across 2026 and 2027. The announcements covered tactics, racing, horror, RPGs, fighting games, anime adaptations, online worlds, and major licensed franchises.
The result was a crowded calendar with several clear hooks. Star Wars is expanding into tactics and racing. TMNT is moving forward with PlatinumGames. Gundam is building a new action universe. Several major franchises are using 2026 and 2027 to return, expand, or reinvent themselves.
