Space Ghost returns this summer with an oversized annual that closes one chapter and sets up the next. Space Ghost Annual #2 arrives in July from Dynamite Entertainment and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products. The issue wraps the past year of stories, often called “Season Two,” and pushes the series into its next phase.
Pepose and Lau Drive the Series Forward
Writer David Pepose and artist Jonathan Lau lead the creative team once again. They work alongside colorist Andrew Dalhouse and letterer Taylor Esposito to expand the Hanna-Barbera universe.
“The Hanna-Barbera Universe is about to get a whole lot bigger in the pages of Space Ghost,” Pepose said. “It’s been such an incredible gift to work on the galaxy’s greatest superheroes with my amazing collaborators Jonathan Lau, Andrew Dalhouse, and Taylor Esposito and we’re only just getting started. We are truly grateful for all the incredible support of the readers, retailers, and press who have championed our run from the very beginning. With Space Ghost Annual #2, we’re wrapping up our second year with action, excitement, and heart, setting the stage for more exciting Space Ghost adventures to come.”
Pepose blends the spirit of the original Hanna-Barbera series with fast-paced superhero storytelling. He builds each issue with tight character focus and escalating stakes. Lau matches that energy on the page. He delivers sharp, kinetic visuals shaped by his work on Red Sonja and Green Hornet.
Space Ghost Faces a New Threat
Space Ghost, Jan, and Jace try to recover from recent losses. They do not get the chance. A new threat forces them back into action.
Master thief Magnus launches a high-stakes heist. He teams with a mysterious partner known only as The Alien. Together, they bend reality and disrupt everything in their path. Space Ghost and his team move quickly to uncover the truth behind the expanding crime spree.
The Story Builds Toward a Major Crossover
The annual does more than close out the current arc. It points directly to the next major story.
The issue sets up a crossover with The Herculoids. The team races toward a historic meeting that will expand the scope of the series. More details are expected soon.
Artists Deliver a Standout Lineup
The issue features covers from Jonathan Lau, Bjorn Barends, and Tom Raney. Industry veteran Jerry Ordway also contributes, bringing experience from Adventures of Superman, All-Star Squadron, and Crisis on Infinite Earths.
Space Ghost Annual #2 arrives in July with a clear mission. It closes a major chapter, raises the stakes, and launches the next era of the series.
