Skybound and Image Comics will introduce Business Baby and Big Mildew in a new Invincible Universe backup story launching in Capes #13. The issue arrives at comic book shops and on digital platforms Wednesday, November 25, 2026.
Robert Kirkman (Invincible), Nate Bellegarde (Nowhere Men), and Annalisa Leoni (Invincible Universe: Battle Beast) will deliver the six-part story. Running through Capes #13–18, it explores the duo’s origins as Business Baby sets out to become a hero and finds an unexpected friend.
Capes, Inc. Faces New Competition
Capes #13 also begins a new arc featuring special Invincible Universe guest appearances. Writer Benito Cereno (Invincible Presents: Atom Eve, Blood & Thunder), artist Mark Englert (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), and letterer Rus Wooton (Invincible Universe: Battle Beast) lead the creative team.
Following Dinosaurus’ attack, the heroes of Capes, Inc. face an even bigger threat: market competition. They need new recruits and better ratings because saving the day no longer pays the bills like it once did.
“This new arc of Capes takes our heroes far and wide—around the globe and even into space,” said Katii O’Brien, Senior Editor at Skybound. “But no matter where they are, their boss Commander Capitalism will be circling back about budgets and team optics. Readers can expect lots of action as well as some surprise character cameos from Invincible, but no shortage of workplace antics, either.”
Cover Lineup Includes Business Baby Spotlight
Mark Englert provides the main cover for Capes #13. Additional open-to-order covers feature work by Conor Hughes, Nate Bellegarde & John, Gleb Melnikov, and Sweeney Boo.
Nate Bellegarde and Annalisa Leoni also contribute a Business Baby cover. A blank sketch cover rounds out the lineup.
Invincible Builds on Its Streaming Success
The announcement comes as Invincible continues its run on Prime Video. Season 4 became the animated series’ most-watched season to date.
Season 5 is in production for release in 2027. The series also received an early Season 6 renewal
