The long-awaited reunion of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes is finally taking shape. Theater owners have waited six years since Avengers: Endgame delivered the last major team-up. Now, The Walt Disney Company has given exhibitors a first full look at what comes next as Avengers: Doomsday took center stage at CinemaCon.
At CinemaCon, Disney debuted the first full-length trailer for Avengers: Doomsday. Previous marketing included four short teasers focused on Steve Rogers, Thor, the X-Men, and the Fantastic Four. Each hinted at a looming multiversal battle. This trailer expands that scope.
Doctor Doom Takes Center Stage
The footage opens with Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr.. He appears in a green hood and metal mask as he prepares to invade the multiverse.
A quick cut shows Professor Xavier, portrayed by Patrick Stewart, staring out from the X-Mansion as a bright flash signals danger. From there, the trailer shifts into rapid crossover action.
Crossovers Drive the Action
The film leans heavily into character collisions. Gambit, played by Channing Tatum, fights alongside Shang-Chi, portrayed by Simu Liu.
Mystique, played by Rebecca Romijn, transforms into Yelena Belova. That moment sets up a face-off with Florence Pugh playing both sides of the encounter.
Meanwhile, Thor, played by Chris Hemsworth, clashes with Doom. In a standout shot, Doom catches Mjolnir with his bare hand.
Captain America’s Return Stuns the Avengers
The biggest reveal comes with Chris Evans returning as Steve Rogers. His reunion with Thor lands as a key emotional beat.
Steve Rogers had stepped away at the end of Endgame, traveling back in time to live with Peggy Carter and passing the Captain America mantle to Sam Wilson. The trailer does not explain his return. However, it shows he is still worthy of wielding Mjolnir, echoing his moment in the battle against Thanos.
A Massive Ensemble Comes Together
Like Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, this installment brings together multiple factions. The Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Thunderbolts all share the screen.
Following the post-credits tease in Thunderbolts, the Fantastic Four arrive in the MCU. Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and Thing meet the New Avengers lineup. That group includes Bucky Barnes, Yelena Belova, Sentry, Ghost, Red Guardian, and U.S. Agent.
The trailer also teases a renewed conflict between Wakanda and Talokan, following their clash in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
One Enemy, One Fight
The story centers on a unified mission. Heroes and former villains must work together to defeat Doctor Doom.
Downey Jr., using a faint Eastern European accent, narrates parts of the trailer. He later joined Evans on stage at CinemaCon, where they screened the footage twice for a packed auditorium.
