‘V For Vendetta’ Returns To Theaters For 20Th Anniversary In 2026

V For Vendetta

Fathom Entertainment, Saga Arts, and Warner Bros. Pictures are bringing V for Vendetta back to theaters for its 20th anniversary. The dystopian action thriller will screen nationwide on November 1 and 5, 2026. A new teaser trailer invites fans to “Join V One Year from Tonight,” echoing the film’s famous line.

The Film That Lit a Revolution

Released in 2006, V for Vendetta adapts Alan Moore and David Lloyd’s acclaimed graphic novel. The Wachowskis produced the film, which explores defiance and freedom in a totalitarian Britain. Natalie Portman stars as Evey, a young woman rescued by the masked vigilante V, played by Hugo Weaving. Together, they ignite a movement against oppression in a future ruled by fear.

A Cast and Vision That Endure

Directed by James McTeigue, the film also features Stephen Rea, John Hurt, Stephen Fry, Tim Pigott-Smith, Rupert Graves, Roger Allam, Ben Miles, and Sinéad Cusack. V for Vendetta earned over $70 million domestically and $132 million worldwide, gaining a devoted global following for its bold political themes and unforgettable imagery.

Legacy and Impact

“From its early days as a graphic novel and then a feature film, few properties have struck a chord with fans and been more thought-provoking societally than V for Vendetta,” said Tom Lucas, Fathom’s VP of Studio Relations. “Twenty years later, the movie still resonates, and Fathom is so pleased to bring it back to theatres next November with our partners at Warner Bros. and Saga Arts.”

The return marks not just an anniversary screening, but a renewed invitation to question authority—and to remember the power of one idea.
