‘Despicable Me 4’ Tops Box Office For Second Week

With $44.7 million from 4,449 theaters, ‘Despicable Me 4’ easily stayed at the top of the box office chart in its second weekend. It surpassed $200 million to end the weekend with a total of $211.1 million in North America. Overseas, Gru and his mischievous minions continued to make a lot of sales. They made $88 million from 78 countries, adding up to $226.7 million in foreign sales and $437.8 million worldwide.

In a notable milestone, the Despicable Me/Minions franchise has crossed $5 billion mark in global ticket sales, a feat no animated franchise has achieved before. Illumination and Universal Studios has announced the next movie in the franchise, ‘Minions 3’ will be released in 2027.
