Oni Press announced that two of their fan-favorite young readers titles will be continuing their adventures in all new stories, debuting in summer 2024!
First, on June 11th, the second laugh-out-loud, stand-alone escapade from comic duo HF Brownfield and Kayla Coombs take middle grade readers on a space mission to perilous planets in Quinnelope and the Mystery of the Missing Moon. Then on August 27th, Frankie Fairy’s latest ecological adventure for young readers encourages exploration and observation in Frankie and the Beastly Bog Song by cartoonist Caitlin Rose Boyle.
After the success of HF Brownfield and Kayla Coomb’s debut middle grade humor hit Quinnelope and the Cookie King Catastrophe, Quinnelope and friends are back for the hilarious planet-hopping road trip of a lifetime in Quinnelope and the Mystery of the Missing Moon. As Quinnelope is getting ready for bed one night, she discovers that the moon is mysteriously missing from the sky. There’s only one thing to do: launch a space mission to solve the mystery of the missing moon! Along with her dutiful butler, Bub, and loyal companion, Star, the trio blast off on a cosmic adventure to find the missing moon once and for all. Will they be able to find the moon and restore night time once again, or will they be doomed to endure sunny days forever?
In Frankie and the Beastly Bog Song by cartoonist Caitlin Rose Boyle, Frankie Fairy returns to help young readers learn about new ecosystems and creatures such as turtles, moles, frogs, and fireflies in an all-new stand-alone story. Frankie Fairy loves to learn about creepy crawly critters—and this summer she gets the special job as research assistant on her mom’s trip to study all sorts of new species. Frankie’s mom is her scientist hero, and she wants to do everything she can to impress her! But when the critters start to get a bit too creepy and a bit too crawly, will Frankie be a scaredy fairy or will she be a brave scientist hero like her mom?
“Both of these books are fun, adventurous, and heartwarming, with characters that really shine,” said Senior Editor Grace Scheipeter. “I’m thrilled for readers to dive into all new stories with Quinnelope and Frankie Fairy!”
