Yellow Submarine (non)Beatles Have Been Cast

Yellow Submarine CastRobert Zemeckis has picked an eclectic bunch to portray the Beatles in the  3D remake of Yellow Submarine. Already cast was Dean Lennox Kelly (Shameless) playing John, Cary Elwes (Princess Bride) is George, and Andy Campbell (Date Movie and Epic Movie) as Ringo. Rounding out the group is  british comedian Peter Serafinowicz, who will be playing Paul.

According to British press, Peter’s Paul McCartney impression is spot on. Considering the varied work of the others, they will probably do a better job than the original actors who voiced the Beatles in the original film. Lucky for them (and maybe lucky for us too) the actors will not have to sing the musical numbers. Zemeckis has recruited “The Ultimate Beatles Tribute Band”, The Fab 4 to perform in their place.

As with Zemeckis past few efforts, this too will be a 3D CGI film, done with motion capture. Zemeckis is hoping to have the movie premiere coincide with the London 2012 Olympics.

Anyone out there for ready for a completely non-Beatle Yellow Submarine?
