20th Century Fox is hoping to breathe new live into their old Planet of the Apes franchise with the new prequel, Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Today, Fox has released a second trailer for the film, which opens August 5.

Fox is hoping that the Rupert Wyatt’s directed film starring James Franco, Freida Pinto, John Lithgow, Tom Felton and Brian Cox will be enough to erase the horrible memories of the monumentally bad Tim Burton re-make of 2001 and restart the franchise. If the film is as good as this trailer, maybe they’ve got a chance.
