Catherine Hardwicke, director of the first Twilight film, has found the male romantic lead to star with Amanda Seyfried for her next film, The Girl with the Red Riding Hood in Shiloh Fernandez (The United States of Tara), according to The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision blog.
Fernandez is no stranger to Hardwicke, being that he had auditioned for the role of Edward in Twilight. In this re-imagining of the classic Brothers Grimm fairy tale, Seyfried will play a young woman during medieval times whose village is being terrorized by a werewolf. Fernandez will play Peter “an orphaned woodcutter who Seyfried falls, much to the displeasure of her family.”
The film is set to begin shooting later this spring and should be in theaters later this year, though there is no scheduled release date at this time.
