Senator Hammond is the disapproving father of the film’s villian Doctor Hector Hammond, who will be played by Peter Sarsgarard. When Hector stumbles upon a meteor that gives him psychic powers, the issues between father and son come to a head.  Others already cast in the film are Blake Lively as Hal Jordan’s love interest Carol Ferris and Mart Strong as Sinestro.
